I don't think we're going to have a second wave of COVID-19 in the fall.

Rather, that second wave looks like it's just about here already, meaning that we'll be on wave three or four by the fall.

We really need Biden to take over right now.

two weeks or at the end of June. To see how many more people contract the virus. Horrible this pandemic could have been avoided sooner.

3. I heard a doctor describe what's happening now as a 2nd surge...

...in the first wave. He went on to explain how the virus could lie dormant until late September/early October and then re-blossom thus creating a "second wave." Combined with the annual surge of influenza every year, the number of patients could overly tax the hospitals. He then pointed out that in the absence of an effective vaccine, the world would continue to experience wave after wave of outbreaks until everyone's either immune or dead.

I'm sorry but I don't recall any details of where I heard it but it struck me as authoritative.

4. I expected an higher increase after RW protest/Memorial Day. I think summer might lessen it.

There is some increase in some places, but mostly plateau.

I read today Texas, Az and Oregon have all increased. I am Or. Oregon of course is significantly less than a state like Texas, but for our numbers. I am just kinda feeling maybe it might not be as bad, because it is summer.

5. We just have a steady upward climb

Today the report showed 409 people got sick yesterday and 9 more died here in Arkansas.

We are at the beginning of the summer holiday season and I expect we will have a continued upward trend as we are a very popular vacation state. Our tourist town is already overrun with people from several different states.

Thank goodness I live out of town and rarely go there. I buy groceries once a month and the stay put.

9. A couple of states are past a "first wave" if you will... like NY and WA.

Many other states, like you said, were never past the first peak. Some had plateau-ed, but that's about it.

It's waning in some states many deaths still happening, cases and deaths are at a plateau in others and both are still going up in some.

Right now it's the calm before the real storm hits, and it will hit.

My brother worked a 14 hour shift last week where his hospital saw 0 COVID patients, and that was the first time since the day the pandemic was declared. It's getting better, but who knows what this will look like even a month from now?

I am in the midwest. Our numbers are going up. We 'reopened' about 3 weeks ago. Fully reopened Monday. My governor stinks.
