I am not religious, but this song speaks deeply still, and seems so appropriate today.
The song explains that many kinds of hallelujahs do exist, and all the perfect and broken hallelujahs have equal value. Its a desire to affirm my faith in life, not in some formal religious way but with enthusiasm, with emotion.

The first was the intimate connection between the two of them and the second was the connection to times past of my remembrance of times spent in a college dormitory listening to others performing songs to take advantage of the acoustics, back in the early 70's.
