Bloomberg or the Lincoln Project needs to go up on the air immediately. I live in Kentucky. Her commercials are terrible. She runs them all day and all she does is defend herself from Mitch's attacks. Who is her campaign manager? Once you start defending yourself, the attack has worked. You don't defend. You go on offense. I love her. I've even met her and she's a wonderful person. But her ads are awful. She just keeps looking in the camera whispering and pleading that Mitch's attacks are wrong. Her campaign manager should be sued for political malpractice. She's not gonna win like this. It's getting close to Christine McDonnell's Senate campaign ad in Delaware when she looked in the camera and said "I'm not a witch."

(63,221 posts)but I am loath to put good money after bad. If she can't turn her message around and start going on the attack - because there is so much there to work with - there are other races that I would rather direct my money to.
How do we get through to her or her campaign manager to let them know that this strategy is not working? I need to see some effort in the right direction before I send her more money.

(509 posts)But she is running on defense and not offense. She can't win like this. Money is not her problem though.

(63,221 posts)again until they went on the offensive. By acknowledging Mitch's attacks they are legitimizing them. They need to ignore him and hit him with everything they have, and there is a lot of ammunition.
Mitch is very unpopular. It shouldn't take much coaxing to turn a significant number against him.

(94,552 posts)Amy McGrath is a wonderful person (I've met her). But the dollar you (or Bloomberg) spend on her is a dollar not spent on more winnable Senate Seats: AZ, CO, ME, NC, NT, IA, GA, KS. The way to beat McConnell is not to get him out of office; it's to get him out of leadership by winning the Senate for the Democrats. KY-SEN is far less winnable than many other seats that also need support.

(16,387 posts)McGrath has raised loads of money. The poster is commenting about the quality of the ads being produced. They are not begging for campaign contributions. Two separate things.

(94,552 posts)McGrath has raised a good amount of money, but isn't showing a +10% lead like Kelly has in Arizona. She has to find a message/strategy that resonates.

(94,552 posts)Producing ads and going up on the air costs money. That money could be spent on more winnable Senate races that would kick McConnell out of his role as Senate Majority Leader.

(16,387 posts)McGrath has a race to run, if thats okay with you. People can make their own determination as to whose bread they want to butter. Its just an odd argument to make to a candidate: Hey, dont raise money.
Itll be fine. Really.

(94,552 posts)...and my advice will be not to, if there are more winnable seats.
