Buffalo police officers who shoved and injured that protester have been suspended without pay

UPDATE: The two officers have been immediately suspended by Buffalo Police Commissioner Byron Lockwood. A full Internal Affairs investigation is underway.


The suspensions are without pay.


The man who was shoved is in stable condition at ECMC in Buffalo.


Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown has issued a statement:

10. They need to be fired immediately. For anyone who had any doubts about the injustice in the criminal

justice system, I hope they are fully aware now. These people lie even when they are on camera. Think of how many acts are not caught on camera where they can trump up charges. Lie about feeling threatened, the suspect had a weapon, reached for the cop's weapon and whatever lie they want to make up.

I think the most horrifying thing for me is to see how nonchalant they are. I am haunted by that look on Chauvin's face. Its as if he was doing something completely normal and inconsequential.
You know how you squash a bug without even thinking twice about it? You have no feeling for the bug. You just step on it or swat it. Its pure instinct.
How nonchalant the other officers are. They all walked by that man as he lay bleeding, as if he was just a bug that had been stepped on.
The same as the ones that stood around while George Floyd was being murdered.
