FLIPPABLE: Martin Hickey for NM-SD10
Martin and his wife Mary Cunnane--herself an OBGYN and the Medical Director at Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners--are the proud parents of two sons. Martin’s parents grew up during the Depression. The two most prized values growing up were education, and hard work, which Martin needed healthy doses of to overcome learning disabilities. Doing for others, especially those not as fortunate, was also a huge parental driver in his life. Martin’s mom loved quoting “You do what lies before you to be done!” thinking that came from her absolute role model, Eleanor Roosevelt (who actually said: What one has to do usually can be done”). And his father, a Lieutenant in the Navy during WWII, always drove home the life long value of service.
Martin is driven to succeed, and to help his community succeed.
