FLIPPABLE: Jessica Velazquez for NM-HD22

I was raised by two public school teachers. They taught me that the greatest good we can do in this world is to help others, so it’s probably no surprise that I became a teacher myself.

Little did I know that a student would change my life.

He was a quiet kid and earned good grades. But in November, he stopped turning in his work and started failing tests. Turns out that he and his family lost their home and were living in their car. Thank goodness for the compassionate school staff, dedicated social workers, and effective state and local organizations that were able to help my student and his family get back on their feet.

Working to help my student and his family made me realize that too many of our New Mexican families are struggling. And I decided to do something about it:

I’m running for the New Mexico House of Representatives to help make life better for all New Mexicans.

My name is Jessica Velasquez, and I’m asking for your vote on November 3, 2020.
