now they are just confirmations of the already chosen.

But, do we really want to have them offer a proper candidate Biden may lose to?

for a long time that Trump will resign. His golf weekend was canceled this weekend, even though he owns golf courses. I was trying to imagine why he wasn't going somewhere like Scotland for the weekend, and then realized he would be facing protests there also.

That's just a gut feeling, I have no basis to believe that. It's a feeling based on his photos- how unhealthy he looks. We haven't seen the idiot kids in awhile. Melania clearly wants out. Princess Ivanka is probably not welcome in NY anymore, and will face her own protesters on the streets-- Hell, I can't even imagine her shopping in Naples, FL right now.

The Trump family, with the exception of Trump himself, probably knows they are despised. I can't imagine where they'll even live comfortably when they go away.

It is apparent they agree with Trump or they would have removed him from office when

they had the chance.

The GOP is dead.

This is Trumps party and they will continue to appease his cult at all costs.

They don't give a damn about this country.

They worship power and money.

They want to destroy this country.

They want the U.S. to become a theocracy controlled by corporations.

... just now learning he’s a dick. Dickish behavior is how he won the 2016 primary, and most of them loved it. We need to remember that.

nothing has been done to protect the integrity of our elections. We know that Russian interference is still going on and, quite frankly, most Republicans don't seem to care.

I don't think the country could survive another 4 years of Trump.

If he resigned and Pence became POTUS, then Pence could issue a presidential pardon and Trump wouldn’t face charges once he’s a private citizen. I’m sure they’re thinking about this BUT the Party knows that Pence does not have the fanatical followers that Trump has and the odds of him losing in Nov are worse than Trump’s.

If he wanted out, he could demand to pick the candidate with the threat of campaigning against a candidate not of his liking.

I don't believe a former president will ever be charged. I think it more likely that he would go off and make a fool of himself every so often but be mostly a national disgrace. He'll try the TV thing but he is so toxic right now that sponsorships would be limited.

He has to know that even if he were to manage an electoral victory, he will lose the popular vote by even more than he did to Hillary. He may lose the Senate. There is no way he wins the House. So he could be a lame duck second term president right from the start.

Many of the so called "reasonable Conservatives" have left the party.

What is actually left in the GOP are the ones who have not been embarrassed or sane enough to leave yet.

That is why his approval numbers have been so high within the GOP. The party has been abandoned to be run by the crazies.

To have him elected and then allow him to be impeached. They could blame the impeachment on the Democrats and retain the Trump voters. The vice President, could then be eligible for two more Republican terms. They could retain power on Trump's back and then try to restore some fantasy of honor in the party.

What would be really interesting is if the Republicans replaced the VP at the convention.
