U.S. military personnel, likely National Guardsmen, were hit by lightning early today in Lafayette Park, where protesters demanding justice outside the White House after the police killing of George Floyd were forcefully cleared this week to allow for a presidential photo op.
Shortly after midnight, #DCsBravest received a call for a report of 2 military personnel suffering the effects of a nearby lighting strike within the Lafayette Park perimeter. Both were transported with non life threatening injuries.
