Social Security Works: Fast-track process to cut Social Security and Medicare

And new reporting indicates that Mitt Romney is pushing hard to include a fast-track process to cut Social Security and Medicare behind closed doors, while eliminating the unemployment insurance expansion that has sustained the 43 million people put out of work by the pandemic.

that he wants to cut SS and Medicare for future recipients. He and other Republicans know that older Americans tend to vote for them and they won't mess with that gravy train.

He still sucks. And this reminds me again why I detested him in 2012.

In the grand scheme of things, you can always count on two things.

- Rich people think the government is too generous

- People who think of finance as hard work thinks everyone should work until they are older

Both the trumpsters and tea partiers were/are populist rebellions of progressive conservatives against the party leadership's threats to repeal Social Security and other social programs, like the ACA. Trump promised them MORE, and then betrayed them.

The "keep your goddamn government hands off my Social Security" people, but they're not the fat, illiterate slobs people here like to imagine -- they're almost the entire right, including their middle class voters. (But, yes, they're of course not our best and brightest.)

increase their taxes (the 1%ers) ... quite of a few of the 1%ers have been saying that their taxes need to go up. One of them even said that his secretary pays more of a tax % on her income vs. his income (in the $billions).

Something is so unfair and wrong about this. No wonder people are protesting this totally unfair tax advantage given to a very very few people (the 1%ers), while the rest of us have to pay the usual same level of taxes as that secretary I mentioned above, or more.

However, nothing seems to hurt Trump. His approval ratings now is the same as in Feb.......
