Since the night George Floyd was tortured to death why have republicans been so silent?

Why aren’t they speaking out now about their constituents being terrorized by the police violence going on in their communities? There’s got to be some of the areas that have republican representation. Why are the republicans not speaking out for or against of what’s going on now?

Their silence is deafening !

and they're afraid of Trump's mean tweets. The white guy who got pushed down is an activist and probably a Democrat so he doesn't count either.

Just like they do with school shootings. Or any crisis they want to avoid because of their callous self-interest and heinous ideology.

14. This! It's the same old playbook. Silence until the media and public move on.

And it usually works, too. Republicans know the media and public have the attention spans of gnats. Maybe, for once, they're wrong.

And also because most of them are racist MFers who would rather just not have black people to deal with.

12. Sadly, the statements that they don't care and hope it will just blow over are true

History certainly supports the fact that these things blow over if you look the other way long enough, especially when Orangeman throw out 50 pieces of red meat daily that the media wastes its time chasing after and we go along with. I hope this one does not follow that course but...we'll outlaw most chole holds and talk police reform and revisit this all in some similar form in six months or so.

And they don't care about any of us unless we are major contributors to their reelection coffers and they think that they can cobble together enough votes to get re-elected with or without us. Rep King was an almost singular anomalie and they know it.

Lowest Common Denominator Democracy here we are.
