I wonder if any presidents have slept in the bunker.

I know it sounds funny, but if I was president, I'd want to know how it works. Maybe try it out for a night as part of a continuity exercise. I mean, you don't want to be stuck there waiting for the radiation to wear off while sleeping on an uncomfortable bed.

FDR wouldn’t let them do that during the war. He didn’t want to look like he was “retreating.”
Even though there was a real actual army to threaten him.
