Is this time different?

I heard this asked on the radio today during the interviews. The interviewees, one had experienced the 1965 riots, Rodney King Civil unrest, said "yes"... what do you think?

Yes different but only incrementally.

It will take successive incremental changes coupled with changes in generations to actually get to where we should be.

maybe, but probably not. I said we've been here before, and then the news cycle moved on to some other shiny object. He's seen the video, the protests etc and can't believe things won't change. The best I can say is, we'll see.

I have to see the change to believe it.

Rallies and protests and empty promises from mayors and governors are nice and all.

But there are too many racist cops.
There is too much looking the other way in police ranks.

Can it change? Yes

Will it? Doubtful.
