A day of peaceful protests in downtown Los Angeles that drew thousands on Tuesday, June 2, ended for dozens of demonstrators in arrests on Broadway between 4th and 5th streets and some others in surrounding blocks. At least one person was injured.

Los Angeles police officers fired rubber bullets as dozens entered an apartment building seeking refuge with the help of one of the residents it appeared who opened the door.

One of the hard rubber bullet rounds struck a homeless man in a wheelchair right above his left eye, drawing blood and a large welt.

Officers and then paramedics tended to the man, but his condition was unclear. LAPD spokeswoman Officer Rosario Cervantes said Wednesday the department had no comment on the incident at this time. A photo of the man and his injury was being reviewed by the department.

I hope someone can find a place for this man to live. Who would shoot a rubber bullet at this man's head? As I understand it, they are supposed to aim the rubber bullet at the ground so it bounces up to the person. All of the cops I have seen aim for the face and eyes.
