Anti-Fascists kicking Fascist Butt Celebrates 76 Years Anniversary

June 6 1944, D-Day. The most important day ever for the freedom of Europeans. Let us never forget how much we owe to the brave soldiers who lost their lives during #WW2

Brave men and women stood up when it counted in World War 2 to stop the last lot of fascists that thought they could rule for ever... just sayin'. Also very reassuring to remember that generation of anti-fascists just as this generation of anti-fascists are being labelled a terror organisation by an actual fascist.

Indeed they were. The bomber crews they rode shotgun for were always glad to see the Red Tails show up. They didn't hot dog; they took care of business.

Infantry Division.

Talk about racism, their relatives were being rounded up in internment camps, while they fought for the USA.

Senator Daniel Inouye was in that unit.

I knew anoth one of those brave men. He was NOT to be messed with.

It wasn't going to be solved quickly. Large white sections of the military would not have accepted it, and there was a war to get on with. Eleanor Roosevelt pleaded with her husband for more integration. FDR knew it wasn't immediately practicable, would affect morale and the ability to fight.

I knew a dentist who served in WWII, he was friendly with the family. He told the tale of a white soldier from the South who presented with a toothache. Learning the dentist was from NY, he refused to be treated and asked for another dentist. So they sent him to one. When he went to the second dentist, he learned the dentist was black. So he returned to the first, and NY, dentist, who was suddenly a suitable choice. Unfortunately these were the racial and regional conflicts of the time.
