that may result from decades of repression"

While no one condones looting, on the other hand, one can understand the pent-up feelings that may result from decades of repression and people who have had members of their family killed by that regime, for them to be taking their feelings out on that regime. And I don't think there's anyone in any of those pictures … [who wouldn't] accept it as part of the price of getting from a repressed regime to freedom.

Donald Rumsfeld 2003

No shit Donald. I am posting this to show how Rethugs excuse looting when it suits them. Let the Iraqis loot, but call out the military on our own people. Republican logic.

His wisdom on that matter lead to dire consequences. Like the collapse of the central government and mass chaos and looting. Destruction and or theft of antiquities. Destruction of records where the fleeing regime were covering their crimes.

....nor is it a legitimate form of protest. People need to get one thing straight. There is only one motivation for looting. It is the desire to take advantage of a nationwide call for justice in order to illegally obtain merchandize. They are not sitting in the living room staring at stolen merchandise and congratulating themselves for their contribution in the fight for racial equality, justice, and how proud George Floyd would be of them. They are sitting in their living room and congratulating themselves on all the free shit they got for nothing while peaceful, and caring protesters pay the price for their greed by misleading, and unfair equivocation.

.... and a clarification of your post. Upon reading the first sentence of your reply to me, I didn't know quite how to respond until it dawned on me that the S and the D sit next to each other on a keyboard.
