I have always liked Sat & Sun mornings, because that's when the Food Network runs the 'how-to' type shows. So it's on while I do things around the house. Its also a break from having news channels on in the background.
Today, I have lost track of how many times I've seen that fucking "the economy's coming back thankyoutrump!!!!" ad. MF45 already taking credit for the "roaring back" economy that's the "envy of the world". The job info just came out yesterday, and they're already exploiting it.
How many people who don't know better will see this shit all over TV, and believe it??
I know there are great Lincoln Project ads, I see them here. But they don't need to convince me. Those ads need to be on TV to counter the rightwing bullshit. On all the channels, not just be discussed by the shows on CNN or MSNBC.

(10,417 posts)weekend mornings. They did kinda go the way of MTV with all the game show formats. Some are good, but I learn a lot more watching the instructional type shows.
It was best in the late 90's early 2000's, when the lineup had Emeril (who is a great teacher), Mario Batali, Two Hot Tamales and others.

(15,692 posts)I DVR EVERYTHING! Even news I am 10-15 minutes behind just to FF commercials. If I catch up I watch something else I DVRed until I can go back. Its the greatest thing. I watch The Pioneer Woman and The Kitchen on food network. Best thing is I get to watch it in 20 minutes saving me at least ten minutes per show. Even Rachel I FF through commercials.

(16,616 posts)They are profoundly effective but if they are not getting beyond Twitter and like social media platforms and MSNBC they are all but useless exercises in self-indulgence.
We need that kind of ad content (Lincoln Project/the Bloomberg ads) but sprayed the way Bloomberg placed his ads, on often-accessed television channels, plunked down in the middle of major televised events and so forth. This is so basic it shouldn't have to be stated.

(10,417 posts)I'd be a little less annoyed if MF45's liefest were followed by a Lincoln Project ad, or one of the ads Bloomberg used to do. If that crap is all people see, the ones who aren't paying attention will have their minds made up by fall, and it won't be in our favor.

(31,909 posts)Old shows definitely geared towards seniors.
Theres an ad they show frequently for a company that sells face masks and hand sanitizers that always prefaces their ad with a picture of a bunch of American flags waving in the breeze and the annoying voiceover stating,Americas economy is coming back like never before! Then they proceed to try and sell you products to keep you safe during a pandemic. I think the irony is probably lost on most....
