Trump Contaminates Swab Factory By Refusing To Wear A Mask

Trump Contaminates Swab Factory By Refusing To Wear A Mask

By Jason Easley at PoliticusUSA

The Maine swab factory that Trump visited said that they will have to throw away everything produced while he was there because he didn’t wear a mask.

As reported by USA Today:

Puritan Medical Products said it will have to discard the swabs, a company spokeswoman told USA TODAY in response to questions about the visit.

It is not clear why the swabs will be scrapped, or how many. The company described its manufacturing plans for Friday as “limited” – but the disruption comes as public health officials in Maine and other states have complained that a shortage of swabs has hampered their ability to massively scale up coronavirus testing.

Workers in white lab coats, hair nets and plastic booties worked at machines making swabs while the president walked through the room. Trump, who did not wear a mask for the visit, stopped at one point to talk with some of the workers.

The nation is still in the midst of a swab shortage that is limiting the capacity of coronavirus testing, so any number of swabs that were thrown away equal a delay in sick Americans not getting tested because Donald Trump refuses to wear a mask.

My little supermarket has a simple sign - no mask, no entry. The owners let him in.

Did they ask him to wear a mask and he refused?

I read the USA Today article and it appears this might have been a small run of manufacturing just for his tour visit?

Anyway, not enuf info coming from the original source.

But thanks for sharing anyway! Good to see that pResident tRump is still as childish and irresponsible as ever.

Won't wear a mask? Sorry. Come back after the pandemic is over.

Especially hospitals and companies making sterile medical devices.

16. A Maine factory says it will have to discard all coronavirus swabs made during Trump's factory tour

This was solely for a bogus photo op https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-coronavirus-swabs-puritan-maine-thrown-out-2020-6?fbclid=IwAR0IU4Kx0sXlHZqiG_u6KUrdjHRhwiJJ7RVgixFNz2C7ylaqtnLzPeB0hDQ

Puritan Medical Products, a medical swab manufacturer, says it will have to discard all of the swabs made in the background of President Donald Trump's visit to the factory on Friday.

While workers on the factory floor wore lab coats and personal protective equipment, Trump did not wear a mask while touring the facility or visiting with employees.

In a statement to USA TODAY, Puritan did not disclose either its reasoning for dumping the coronavirus swabs or the number of coronavirus tests that would be lost.

Puritan, which the White House said received nearly $80 million from the federal government to double its production capacity, is one of only two companies in the world that make the kind of swabs needed in coronavirus testing.
