Donald Trump is not acting alone.
He is supported wholeheartedly by the Republicans in the House and Senate, led by Mitch McConnell. Their silence is consent. They care more for their Party than their country.
The Republicans in the House and Senate are supported by Republican voters. These Republican voters are not innocent bystanders. They could put pressure on their Republican Senators if they wanted to. Their silence tells us they are complicit with the rest of their Party.
We would like to think that they disagree with the words and tactics of Donald Trump but there is no evidence to suggest they disagree with anything he does.
These are hard truths to accept. These are our family members. These are life-long friends.
They are not going to see the light. They have gone to the dark side.
It is very hard to accept these truths.

(12,480 posts)We got along she knew better than to bring up religion and trump with me. I can eviscerate her arguments in minutes using the cheap labor angle ,and other arguments along with a questioning approach.. she is usually quiet after I'm done. All outta shit to pull out of her ass to defend her stupid beliefs.
Grandma would have been ungodly pissed off with her supporting those damn republicans. Grandma was a devout Dem. She had Clinton signs in her yard. Took her pic with her standing by her fence holding a Clinton sticker up in a patriotic pose. I miss her so much.
She was a Dem like pretty much the rest of my family.

(7,546 posts)I'm sixty years of age and I have watched the one percent and their helpers in Washington D.C. wage war on the poor and the middle class of this country for all of those sixty years. It stopped being about anything else but money for Republicans a long, long time ago.
