WARNING: This Right wing extremist Congressman is spreading fake propaganda leaflets to incite a Race-based civil war. THIS FLYER USES TERMS & THEMES FROM WHITE SUPREMECIST/NEO-NAZI WRITING & THE 14 WORDS. He says it was written by Democrats & Liberals THIS IS A LIE.
Rep. Dave Williams ✔@RepDaveWilliams
Apparently, this flyer was found outside the CO Capitol during the peaceful protests.
Obviously, this is unacceptable to say the least.
Encouraging violence & calling for the murder of Republicans is disgusting.#GeorgeFloyd #copolitics #cogov #coleg

(58,785 posts)obviously long-suffering 33% who voted against him. It's pretty much like that here in our Bible Belt GA district, deep red, strongly white, most of the worst indecency restrained by precepts of religion, no one's called us "Crazy Hollow," but in the end the political effect is much the same. Our rep is Doug Collins, who's leveraging his bizarre impeachment persona (which no one here had seen before) for a run for senator. 'nuf said?

(58,785 posts)letter writing for Fungus when Dobson headquartered it there. Lovely and fun woman in other respects, but sadly I could never get her to give me any insights into the organization, even the most benign. Her husband was an assistant football coach for USC, always politically sensitive, so that probably had something to do with the zipped-and-buttoned lips. She left after a couple years, also don't know why. I'd like to think it was because she realized how politically extremist they were, with all the ruthless dishonesty and lack of principle that extremism always means.

(5,969 posts)That's a slam dunk, unfortunately. It says it right there, endorsed by the Democratic Party. It's also approved by everybody else! So there!
It has to be true because the supposed policy proposals of the Democrats seem very believable:
- Training your faggot children
- "Gauranteed" paradise
- Shielding everyone from "prosicution" for killing Republicans. It's also approved by God.
- Join us or die
panfluteman
(2,065 posts)And immediately came to the conclusion from its editorial slant that it could NOT have been written by any Democrat - but only by a Republican to incite right wing hatred and violence against Democrats. The guy who wrote this doesn't really know Democrats because he isn't one. But alas - the vast majority of the American voting public is probably not educated or intelligent enough to figure that out.
OneBro
(1,159 posts)Lots of us thought it was laughable when republicans spread the mind-numbingly ridiculous rumor that Hillary was part of a pedophile ring being run out of the basement of a pizza parlor in New York. I remember thinking NO ONE would believe such a goofy accusation. Fast forward through Q-Anon and Facebook, and the next thing we see is a guy walking into the pizza parlor with his gun so he could save those poor kids. The harsh reality is that Republicans know their people better than we ever will, so when they pass out a flyer like this, they know that millions - yes, millions - of their supporters will pass it on, either gleefully aware that its bogus, or woefully unaware as they grab their guns and prepare for they day theyve heard talk of their whole dad, hate-filled lives.

"Dirty deeds by a Dem, hero Nance steps in.. You can be a hero too!"
The flyer is so terribly obvious, so laughable and pathetic with all the misspellings and such..and it sounds like something that someone who only gets sensationalized lies about our respective political parties would think to say. It reads like an imagined psychopathic bucket list written by someone who knows very little about the US.
So, it is just hard for me to think that someone like Nance would take it so seriously.
Maybe I'm just very cynical now so it's hard to believe anything like this..
But, this is certainly what they do, it's what they have been doing for years now to sow discord & anger & violence among us and we keep falling for it.

(58,785 posts)himself as Hispanic through his mother, but pleases his "arch-conservative" "Crazy Hollow" district by pushing all Trump's anti-immigrant messages and things like introducing legislation against sanctuary cities. He's believed to be a shoo-in for reelection.
He's posted this inflammatory disinfo on Twitter alone several times now, and apparently he's been spreading lies as SOP all along. This was after a 2017 attack on Dems in CO's state house:
State Rep. Dave Williams (R-Colorado Springs) blasted out a mass email, without including any evidence to support what he said, claiming to expose the despicable political stunt being planned by Democrats. Democrats say there is no such plan and the only political stunt involved is Williams attempting to stir up a divisive hot topic for his own political gain.
Our sources all confirm that nothing of the kind was ever in the offing, and was never going to happen. Rep. Dave Williams just made this stuff up out of whole cloth to agitate his Republican base in arch-conservative House District 15gaining a reputation as Crazy Hollow after producing such luminaries in Colorado politics as Rep. Doug Bruce and Rep. Gordon Dr. Chaps Klingenschmitt, in addition to Rep. Mark Waller and former Senate President Raging Bill Cadman. Williams, described as personally unpleasant and professionally treacherous by more than a few of his colleagues, seems bent on adding his own unique lowlights to this districts not-so-stellar record.
In less than a year in office, this isnt even the first time that Williams has latched on to controversy in hope of elevating his own profile. From mendaciously attacking local governments in Colorado for an adoring FOX News audience to his too-gleeful identity politics food fights with fellow legislators, its clear that Rep. Williams shares his immediate predecessor Rep. Klingenschmitts relish for stoking controversy as a vehicle for career advancement.
