JFK once addressed the Soviets by saying Western democracies dont have to build a wall to keep our people in
Here is Bidens attack line: As President I wont need to build a wall around the White House to keep the American people out

(4,438 posts)It's a good line for Biden to use but I don't think it will "utterly destroy" Trump.

(9,967 posts)The wall says that the protesters were so violent and trying to storm the White House that he was forced to build a bigger barrier. To Trump, building the wall makes him appear strong. But all it does is make him appear like a puling child afraid of the dark as he hides behind his barricade.

(44 posts)Early in his presidency Trump started comparing himself favorably to Andrew Jackson. I believe this was primarily derived from Jackson's reaction to Marshall's decision in Worcester v. Georgia where he supposedly said "John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it!"
As usual, Trump has cherry picked the anecdotes that fit in with the surreal image he holds of the presidency.
But back to Trump's latest 'wall' obsession... He should look further into the precedent set by the populist Jackson and read up on the true story of his 'big block of cheese'.

(10,952 posts)and paraphrasing Ronald Reagans:
To paraphrase President Reagan, Mr. Trump, tear down that wall that you built around the peoples house.
I would also like to hear him say while campaigning:
Well Donald finally got his wall. We just never anticipated that it would be around the White House, the peoples house. Remember this, he is your employee and he serves at your pleasure. If you dont like the job he is doing, vote him out.
I would love to see someone give an Ann Richards style campaign speech. A good female orator could really ramp up the voters while really humiliating Donald.

(22,250 posts)Her speeches are so reminiscent of Ann Richards that it is almost scary.
Whenever I am in a crowd at one of her events, someone will comment on how much they are alike.
She is running for TX 24 and would be a terrific keynote speaker for the Convention.
She always manages to sneak in the line "defend the United States from all enemies....foreign and (short Pause..) DOMESTIC!! She drags that out just enough for the crowd to join in on it. It is pretty powerful.

(14,570 posts)This really IS good, and definitely should be used.
But I've got to be honest, I haven't seen many good Biden ads, but the really good ones are coming from people like the Lincoln Project - erstwhile Republicans who hate Trump and want him out. These ads are vicious and cutting. Interesting this is what they have been doing to US until they created the monster that is Trump and his crazy white bible thumping base. They aren't and will never be on our side, but the ads may help Biden win.
You possibly should contact the Biden organization and suggest this.

(47,380 posts)Trump is really making it much too easy for Joe. I mean, it is no challenge at all man. Trump often writes Biden's taglines and bumper stickers for him.

(1,288 posts)The sentiment is spot on, but the wording needs work.
Maybe "As President I wont need/want to the American people out by building a wall."
