Condi Rice on Face the Nation (just plain interesting)

Condi Rice was in the second half of Face the Nation. Worth seeing. She talked a lot about historical context of the current protests. She has quite a history herself growing up in Birmingham and being 40% European.

23. Condi's DNA is 40% European, but she does not identify with it.

I saw her on Finding You Roots and the DNA results were surprising. She was shocked herself.

She states she had a white great-great-grandfather who was her great-great-grandmother's slave owner, but this would account for only 6.25%.

Obviously there is more going on here, even further generations back than she could trace. This is not unheard of in the AA community, although this is higher than average. Also sometimes DNA tests can over or underestimate ethnicity.

Unfortunately, she talks the talk, but doesn't walk the walk.
