--
At a heated Oval Office meeting on Monday, President Donald Trump demanded that 10,000 soldiers be deployed to the streets of Washington DC to quell anti-racism protests, according to multiple reports.
However top Pentagon officials Mark Esper, the defense secretary, and Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Attorney General Bill Barr, all resisted the request, a top administration official told ABC News.
Milley was involved in a "shouting match" with the president over the request, a senior military official told the New Yorker, telling Trump, "I'm not doing that. That's for law enforcement." The president eventually backed down.
The White House disputed the account. Chief of staff Mark Meadows told the publication, "there was no shouting match, in terms of any directions or any operational decision that was made."

I'll never understand why anyone would want to have anything to do with him.
Trump is stupid and disgusting.
He's also an idiot.

He doesnt want to show his true colors so he rarely does more than grimace and pop off smart ass insults. So the asshat can control how and where he uses his rage attacks. I just wish some clever staffer would get him in full meltdown to show the truth. I suspect some have but theyre saving the best material for the trials.

(2,195 posts)are they saying drumph was going too far too soon? Would there be people and groups
they are in favor of using troops against? Remember MacArthur and the Bonus Marchers?
What if drumph's goons rebel after he is voted out?
Jedi Guy
(3,185 posts)He didn't say, "I'm not doing that right now, it's too soon." He flatly stated that he wasn't going to do it, period.
Who are "drumph's goons" exactly? The same military leadership that just told him no?
Why would they rebel after he's voted out? Given the number of retired senior military folks who are coming out against his handling of the protests, it doesn't sound like they're all that keen on Dolt 45 at the moment, if they ever were.

When you limit the things that there were no shouting matches about, it's a good admission that there was a shouting match.
