police: 664 hours of training vs. licensed cosmetologist 1,600 hours (more examples...)

This just doesn't seem right..... it's quite appalling.

Here's a list of different states with comparison of how many hours police get trained vs. things like becoming a barber, cosmetologist, manicurists, interior designers...

To earn a badge in California, you'll need at least 664 hours of academy training. (The state then requires at least 14 weeks of field training.) If you want to be a licensed cosmetologist, you'll need more than that: 1,600 hours.

The minimum training requirement for Michigan police officers is 594 hours. To work with electrical signs, you'll need 4,000 hours of experience

Police are also trained in the academys to control and not to de-escalate a situation. Show Power. TheBlackAdder Jun 2020 #5

I think Keith Olbermann had that idea first.

75 hours. My daughter was fortunate to have two good ones while she was learning on her first RN job.
