Having a poli-sci degree, I have a bit of an appreciation for a good slogan.
Something short and simple, can be used as a hashtag, can be put on shirts, hats, posters, etc.
It takes that "Law and order" trope the GOP likes to use, and turns it on itself.
And not as easy for FOX "News" to creatively misinterpret. Seriously, don't go around chanting "DEFUND THE POLICE" - that's how you get featured on Hannity.
We need to be listening to the Sith Lords of framing like our allies Rick Wilson and Steve Schmidt in the Lincoln Project.

Police the police sounds vague.

I hope it is picked up as a crowd chant. It is right up there with 'I don't see no riot here! Why you got on riot gear?'

(26,355 posts)Again, KISS principle, short and sweet, bumper-sticker-friendly, clear message. And it's not saying "Stop all cops", it's saying to stop the toxic ones.
And it could get the entire country calling the cops toxic over and over and over - that brings pressure on the politicians to pull the cops' leash.
