and declare himself a Democrat. That would be better for the country than a doomed-to-failure presidential campaign. Sadly, I don't see either of those things coming to pass.

If he were to get on enough ballots, he might sway enough republicans who would have voted for a democrat to vote for him. The best selection would be for him to support Biden.
