Although he jepordized his military career... I'm very grateful.

Took guts.

But I know better than to say he's no longer a Marine. He's still my hero.

Mad race to Walmart for black shoes. That's what happens when you don't wear shoes for a few years. It's more common than you'd think. Leaves a trail of debris in the aisle too.

Happened to me -- after months I wore my favorite boots shopping. Walking along I got felt my heels sink and when I looked down I saw the nasty trail of crumbs. Fortunately there was a boot store nearby.

My sister-in-law was 8 and a half months pregnant with a baby that wound up being 10 pounds at birth. She had bought shoes the day before especially for the wedding. That morning, she couldn't get them on her feet. So they had to race to the nearest CVS to find her some flip flops. I owe her big time.

Actually I chose the moniker after careful thought, after much DU lurking. Folks here can be quite sharp, and I thought of the Yeats poem that ends:

...
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Both meaning "dreams of a better society can be expressed in DU" and "gosh I hope I don't get attacked".

Since joining around Dec or so, I only recently had occasion to block a couple of souls. And I might unblock them one day (when I settle on a nice milestone).

Please to make your acquaintance, jaxexpat!

support the protest and ended up getting 90 days in military jail

was just talking about this today as a female copper in uniform here is in possible trouble for kneeling in a sign of solidarity with the protesters
