He got the idea to smear a 75-yr old man from OANN, of course

Matthew Gertz
@MattGertz

Here's the first half of the batshit OANN segment Trump just tweeted. It alleges the 75 year old man assaulted by Buffalo police officers was an antifa operative, based on a report from Conservative Treehouse.

@MattGertz
Here's the rest of it, which says that media are "fan[ning] the flames of national unrest" by promoting this "far-left provocation" to hurt Trump and help China.

@MattGertz

The report is by Kristian Rouz, a Russian national also on the payroll of the Kremlin’s official propaganda outlet, Sputnik: https://www.thedailybeast.com/oan-trumps-new-favorite-channel-employs-kremlin-paid-journalist

2. OAN can't find a non-Russian person to narrate the Russian propaganda?

It's kind of hilarious that "One America News" runs a conspiracy theory segment narrated by a guy with a Russian accent.

3. so if he's antifa (which doesn't even exist) it's ok to murder him?

I got the sense he is a loud hippy type who could be using harsh words. I have seen those guys at protests.

They could have easily murdered him for exercising his first amendment rights.

It's really fucked up.

4. "referred to as an agitator" was wrong

A reporter mixed up someone else the Buffalo mayor was talking about, and that got corrected. OANN would have known that before they made this report, but they used it anyway, because the lie it useful for them:

Corrected: Buffalo mayor says protester tackled by state police was described as 'major instigator'

Brown said state police officers were involved in the arrest of the protester, Myles Carter, last Monday and that the city does not have the ability to take action against them.

“What we were informed of is that that individual was an agitator. He was trying to spark up the crowd of people,” Brown told reporters, according to a recording of his comments reported by radio station WBEN.
...
“Can you walk us through what the volatility is when a 75-year-old man walks up to the police officers with something in his hand. Obviously we don’t know what that was. But what is the volatility there?” a reporter asked Brown.

“I didn’t speak in relation to the volatility of that individual. I spoke in terms of volatility of the situation,” Brown responded.

Editor's note: WBEN initially reported that Brown said Gugino was described as a "major instigator," and an earlier version of this story included incorrect information as a result.

There's a recording of the press conference here, though the press questions are more or less inaudible: https://www.facebook.com/watch/live/?v=2679799058791486

8. If that wasn't a cell phone in that man's hand

I’m not reading it on the exact same goddam cell phone.

We have long left sanity behind.

9. It does look like a phone to me

It may be reasonable to say he was trying to get a bluetooth connection; what for is pure speculation. It could just be "try and get and identity for this MFer who is hassling me".

11. Any of which is his right. They have to make up a reason.

If they’d had any real belief at the time he was doing something illegal that phone would have been evidence. There was no attempt to arrest, secure, anything.

12. I'm going to speculate that he was merely using his phone to point to the police utility belt

and the guns, mace, ammo and such and ask why they needed all that for a peaceful protest.

My speculation is as better than any Russian Agent who works for Vlad.

Trump is a traitor for using an obvious Russian Asset to spread false information via his twitter feed.
