Project Lincoln leadership forming new strategy re data showing TX, IA, GA & OH are in real play

Tweet from John Weaver:

@ProjectLincoln leadership had a strategy call this morning . . . after detailed analysis and deep dive of polling data, clear that Texas, Georgia, Iowa and Ohio are in real play. Watch a unified front go after @realDonaldTrump & his enablers in these states.

Go get 'em!

I have to applaud Project Lincoln for doing a brilliant job with their ads, which have rattled Trump so much his campaign has to waste money running ads for him in DC, where they have no chance, just to keep the Baby-in-Chief pacified:

Of course they know what they're doing.

I'm personally thrilled that their are still Republicans who love their country more than they love an orange bag of shit stinking up the White House.

A principled opposition does not weaken a government. Done right, a principled opposition makes the government stronger.

The way I feel about the Lincoln Project is rather like FDR and Churchill might have felt about Stalin killing Nazis in 1944. I'm not sure either FDR or Churchill approved of Stalin's politics - clearly they didn't - but they were happy he was on their side, in 1944.

Stalin was doing a great job killing Nazis, and frankly, the Lincoln Project is doing the same in this country, at least metaphorically.

best if we avoid wording that might make us seem as rigid as Democrat-and-liberal-hating Trump supporters.

Biden's best chance of beating Trump, besides turning out the Democratic base, is winning over independents and Republicans.

I don't necessarily agree with historic Republicans who spoke about the limits of government, but they did require us to be sure our government programs were efficient and fair, which overall, with some exceptions, they were.

a lot of Latinos in the conservative parts of Texas go Republican and proudly votes Trump in 2016. One would hope they have seen the light with cages. I have a friend in a small town that is 71% Hispanic and it rates the reddest per capita across the nation. I am going to talk to her to see if she is seeing any friends and family changing views about Trump.

I am with you. Go get 'em.

Wondering if these GOP rebels have thought this "Blue Wave" strategy through?
They could wake up in 2021 with socialized medicine, a living minimum wage, subsidized college and a vigilant EPA to go with higher taxes. I'm curious if they have simply chopped off their beloved "invisible hand".

Though they will also point out that the Democratic Party veering too far left could cost them votes they need to defeat Trump.

years of sustained GOP/Trump's aversion therapy than appeal of Democratic liberalism. But whatever works, of course.

to the Lincoln Project targeting DC cable news with their ads. I'd missed that and was wondering if Trump's wannabe handlers were able to keep him from seeing some of them. NO! The Rolling Stone isn't exactly in his pocket either.

what a 'loyal opposition' looks and sounds like. These are certainly not Democrat-lite or soon-to-be-converted political animals. They are conservatives by their own admission but they are loyal Americans first, unlike Trump and his enablers who frankly are traitors hellbent on reshaping the country to their authoritarian will.

For the moment, we should be happy the Lincoln crew are fighting the good fight along with us. But we should also be mindful in the future. This is a group that has real teeth and bite; they know how to play political hardball and win elections.

As Democrats, we should watch and learn. No time to be queasy or half-hearted. You want to win, you need to pull out the stops, club the opposing side to the ground. And that's exactly what we're seeing with these ads that poke at Trump's soft underbelly. Again and again and again.

If reports are accurate, the Lincoln Project ads specifically are driving Donnie over the brink. In fact, Trump's been described as maliciously crazy after the airings, so much so that his election people are spending $400+ million in the DC metro area alone, all to calm the Squatter-in-Chief's fear of losing in November.

So yeah, the Lincoln folks are on a right and most ferocious track. They know their subject and have been landing blows with each and every ad. We just need to watch, learn and support.

Strange times, strange bedfellows. Glad these people are on our side this year.
