Fox News host Tucker Carlson is coming under fire after a segment some critics called his most racist yet.
On Monday night, Carlson claimed Democrats and the Black Lives Matter movement were trying to eliminate the police and replace them with an armed woke militia to take over cities and increase the power of the Democratic Party.
Democrats hate the police because they dont control the police, Carlson said.
He said the left had taken over the Pentagon and now planned to do the same to law enforcement.

(96,043 posts)It is a slogan of academics and activists, who seem to make a point of coinages that won't ring true beyond the set of people already in wholehearted agreement with them, and even worse, are prone to radical distortion in all directions.
'Police the Police!' is the right slogan. It chants well, its meaning is obvious and proof against distortion, and it presents the actual desire of both most people in the streets and those at home who support them.

(61,033 posts)Police the police is good, or re-imagining policing, or just the good old evergreen, police reform.
Defunding the police is a loser that has the potential to make us a loser in Nov.
The Magistrate
(96,043 posts)But it is pretty much a creature of rightist smear already by now. It will not be echoed as an actual course by any but the most fringe radicals.

Police are necessary. So is massive reform. No reform, no cash.
I would certainly go after all the militaristic shit that's nothing but a show for the most part.
It really only comes out to be a pepper spray operation.

(100,133 posts)...has escaped into the wild already. Today I heard Wolf Blitzer ask a Dem politician if they could defend defunding the police, at which point I changed the channel and resigned myself to the nearly-inevitable.

(6,956 posts)I really mean that . They ascribe beliefs about us that are pure concoctions of fear and forty years of preposterous dis-information.
Some things about policing must change simply because until three weeks ago, they could lynch black people with impunity and without any consequences. Haven't there been something like 471 police lynches and 471 cops that got away with murder?
It must be hard knowing that a third to a half of all people you encounter in your normal life are card carrying members of the devil-dems bloodthirsty cult?
