Under the Trump administration, I truly don’t trust any federal agency anymore. US Department of Justice, CDC or BLS can be politically manipulated to benefit Trump with no legal or political ramifications. Never in my lifetime that I have experienced such atrocity to our country! Like someone previously mentioned in another thread even if the Trump administration comes out with the vaccine, he/she wouldn’t trust it. I feel the same way. The Trump administration has shamelessly lied so much to benefit its own political agendas that I am afraid it would take a long time for the country to trust the federal agencies again, and that will be even after the Trump’s loss in November. The removal of the heads of those agencies should be the first step to regain the trust.

and agency. It's going to take years, likely several presidential terms, to repair the damage and restore trust.

I think I would put Elizabeth Warren to the task. There needs to be a clarification and codification of the mission statement of federal agencies to prevent those that would destroy the agencies from within from gaining employment with federal government in the first place. It's time for a black and white clarification of exactly whom our federal agencies serve...it's country's citizens or it corporate entities.

Republican intent for decades has been to create mass confusion and distrust of our government at the bidding of the ultra-wealthy. They call the shots from behind a very dark curtain - invisible and floating above us out of sight and reach.

The Republican playbook for demolishing government agencies has been with us for decades. I goes something like this:

* Incessantly discredit and demean an agency (e.g., the EPA) on right-wing media....creating rumors of corruption and incompetence.
* When in power, appoint incompetent agency leaders they know will screw it up.
* When in power, cut agency funding to bare bones, further adding internal stress.
* When in power, fire every Democrat in sight - no matter how experienced or critical to the agency they may be.
* Once the agency shows signs of problems, repeat the discrediting and demeaning on right-wing media but add calls for massive reform or even elimination of that agency.
* Begin calls for privatizing many functions of the agency, claiming private companies can do it better and cheaper.
* Finally, give more tax breaks to those ultra-wealth folks that feed the right-wing machine.

Wash, rinse, repeat. Republicans own a massive machine outside of government to carry our this operation.

That process typically will result in an agency that can never be returned to its original glory because that would require tax increases, a move to which the American public now has a severe allergy - even in normal times.
