I received an application to get a mail-in ballot here in Georgia.

It was about a month ago. I filled it in, but did not mail it back. Instead, I emailed a picture of my request to the email address on the application, following their instructions. I received an email stating my application had been received. I think this digital trail is safer and more easily provable, should I be disenfranchised.

A little over two weeks later, I received my ballot. Approval for my mail-in ballot had to go through my county's elections department to verify that I am registered. A week before the election, I mailed in my ballot. Three days later I checked and it had been received.

1. I doubt everyone who is on voter rolls received an application. I don't know if it came from the state or the county, but I believe it was drafted by the Sec. of State.

2. My county is well funded through its professional, high income tax base. The county has plenty of staff to manage applications. The county tends to be republican, but many are a more progressive republican. There are a few flat-earth, trump-worshipping, knuckle-draggers, though. But this is the kind of county that the Sec. of State puts more resources into.

3. The only time I have ever had to wait long in line was to vote in person absentee. At the actual election day poll, I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes. And there were plenty of machines.

The Sec. of State (Raffensberger?) is definitely screwing with the minority vote and the Democratic party.

1. For a red state, Georgia makes voting pretty easy, at least on paper.

While there were problems in Dekalb and Fulton counties today, those counties are pretty much headed by Democrats. We need to do better than this if we want to win in November.

And it’s easy for voters to vote before the last minute, when they might be sick, weather might be bad, poll operations might be screwed up. Why wait?

with having enough personnel to process applications after verifying eligibility. The rest is allocations of machines and getting approval for more polling sites.

3. I know, but that's a county function. I despise KKKemp, but this ain't on him.

Although I’m sure he’s just laughing, rather than trying to improve things.

the Roberts Court overturning the VRA, and Sec of State was able to close precincts that heavily vote D. No wonder there was so much overcrowding at the polls.

This morning m, John Ossoff said that he and his wife applied for mail-in ballots, and kept following up when they didn't receive them. They voted in person, absentee, at the last minute.

lies on the problem yesterday. Yeah, we'd be better off without KKKemp, etc., but that is not going to change between now and November. So, we better get our act together.

4. I Struggle to Understand How Things Can Be So Bad In Cities and Counties Controlled By Dems

I saw this as an issue with Milwaukee in 2016 where the city's screw up on election day easily cost Hillary the state. Not to mention Miami Dade in Florida which is an historical embarrassment when it comes to elections.
