Democrats often accuse Republicans of deliberately making it hard to vote in order to keep minorities, immigrants, young people and other groups from the polls. And Republicans often say they oppose voting reforms because of concerns of voter fraud – which is extremely rare – or concerns over having the federal government run elections. But Trump’s remarks reveal how at least some Republicans have long understood voting barriers to be a necessary part of their political self-preservation.

“I don’t want everybody to vote,” Paul Weyrich, an influential conservative activist, said in 1980. “As a matter of fact, our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down.”

better service AND people need to vote early or by mail. I’m tired of losing, especially when we can do something about it.

which is fine with me, but the county is responsible for this. We are going to beat ourselves if it’s like this in November. County needs to step up, and people need to vote early or by mail to avoid this.

Where I live, they are still in mourning because long dead members of their families died when the Yankees came and burned innocent farmers' farms down during the Civil War. That's how they see it. They never STFU about it.

It's just as racist and shitty as it ever was where I live though. We might as well be living in a different era, more than 100 years ago, here. 75 miles east, there is Charlotte. 100 miles north, there is Raleigh. Where I live? Same as it ever was. Place is full of right wing racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic bigots. Even the small gay community that is here is shit. It's full of lesbians I won't date, because they never STFU about how they'd never be with a black woman and how much they hate gay men. I refuse to spend time with them, because of that. Fuck those bigots too. Fuck all these bigots.

to be in the spotlight. A big huge spotlight on their knee in the neck of POC. That decision should be a front and center issue in the November election and on national news right now.

Robert Reich comes up a little short on things
some times!LOL
I like Mr Reich, he right ! Just wait till Nov.
No matter what State what City it appears
that there is always problems with voting in
poor neighborhood's. Either the machine's are
broken or where the hell do you vote, even if you
can vote somehow. No matter what machine's or
what year, there is always a mess for the poor to have
to deal with it.
