President Trumps incendiary responses to racial injustice protests and the coronavirus pandemic have left him politically isolated and profoundly weakened less than five months from the election, raising alarms among many Republicans about the partys prospects in November.
A raft of fresh polling nationally and in battleground states shows Trump losing ground to presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden, a precipitous slide that has triggered deep distress within the GOP about the incumbents judgment and instincts, as well as fears that voters could sweep the party out of power completely on Election Day.

Trumps ability to shape cultural flash points also appears to have ebbed, as some Republican leaders and legions of large corporations are openly supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, despite risking retaliation from the White House.

Oh, boo fucking hoo. I remember John F. Kennedy's book, "Profiles in Courage" being around 270 pages. If somebody were to write about the GOP's "Profiles in Cowardice, 2016-2020" it would end up being a multi-volume set akin to the Encyclopedia Britannica.

(783 posts)Is force him to resign or invoke the 25th. They could then run someone like Romney out there to even stand a chance. A little too late in my opinion and it would REALLY hurt them since the MAGAt crowd might just stay home and cry in their cereal. It would be a desperation move, pretty much giving up the presidency in hopes of keeping the senate.
