(8,003 posts)The processor was made in the US.
The hard drive and dram were made in Singapore or US by a US memory company.
The motherboard was made in Taiwan.
The case was made in the US.
The monitor was made in Korea by a US company.
All of these parts are very low in cost and very high in performance.
My computer is over 5 years old and runs better than most new ones
I built it myself.
So no sweatshops here and no overpriced here.
I work with computers and information technology for a living.
Next question?

(19,382 posts)I have bought carnival and Exxon every month since the virus. But just as I was going to buy again the stocks went up. Funny how making so much money can be disappointing. Lol. My first buy for carnival was 12 dollars a share. Last I saw it was 23 or so. The stock market is incredible. I just wished, it crash some, again just so I can get some buys in.

(31,261 posts)I prefer a PC because of it's huge price-performance ratio to MAC.
I use computers, but unlike you, I don't build them. PCs allow me to update Apps rapidly. My line of work requires high level graphics and data sorting and analysis tools, PCs have always given me that.

So, they turn to the market.

(38,409 posts)As someone who worked for H&R Block for for a few years - I can tell you that when people who have little money get a big check, they frequently spend it on big, specific purchase that they can't afford except at tax-refund time. People just got $1200.
Another factor might be that Apple isn't dependent on consumers, as much as it is dependent on its corporate clients.

It is nice furniture, though. I still have it.
