Morbidly, COVID 19 is Trumps only hope to win

One thing I noticed about this forum in the month or so I've been here. And it is many people don’t want to deal with particular issues of self-reflection.

So here goes it—an ugly truth.

This is why, as militant as I am, I WAS TOTALLY AGAINST ALL THOSE PROTESTS IN THE STREETS.

Has it dawned on some people that at 30 thousand deaths a month COVID can kill enough black folks and people inclined against Trump just to get him over in a few swing states?

We already know black folks are affected much more than white people.

And thousands of Liberal minded and black people are running around in the streets with an infectious deadly disease rampant.

Don’t think Trump’s people haven’t thought of this

And may have deliberately riled up the left so they can get the virus.

I hope I’m wrong.

But remember Trump won those Midwest swing states by only thousands of votes.

The Fat Bastard isn't adamantly against extending vote-by-mail just for the heck of it.

He doesn't blow a fart without some sinister - if often stupid - reason.

For us to win in November we have to get people who didn't vote last time or ones who voted third party last time to show up and vote. A lot of people who voted for Obama in 2012 stayed home or voted third party. Voters of all colors.

It pains me to think that the Orange menace would want to kill people to win but he would.

I’m not saying Trump planned this, but he may think he can exploit it.

Also, I point out this is a self-inflicted wound. I knew those goddam people in the thousands SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN OUT IN THOSE STREETS.

I understand the cause, I am ALL FOR THE CAUSE, but common sense should have ruled the day, not political emotionalism. WISDOM.

What the Buddhist call SKILLFUL MEANS

I hope and pray since I noticed most of them wore masks, the COVID doesn't spike.

The problem with that is then people who the left criticized like churchgoers and COVID deniers can say their cause is more important.
You can't tell one person their cause isn't worth crap but yours is.

There’s no way to justify what they did IMO.

Its a protest about police brutality, it's a cause that they presumed is more critical that the threat of spreading the virus. Fine. But the COVID deniers cause is the 1st amendment. That’s important to them.

It's arrogant and demeaning to say my cause is worth the risk but your isn’t.

You cant degrade someone's cause and at the same time claiming yours is superior because its police brutality over the 1st amendment.

I think their excuse is BS, and I think the Floyd protestors excuse is also BS and hypocritical.

They may be handy for the twenty minutes you’re in the grocery store, but amongst thousands chanting for hours?

Nevermind the lack of hand washing ability in a crowded public square.

That’s easy.

The numbers speak.

All Trump has to do to win is win two or three of those swing states where black folks stayed home without Obama.
That’s true in any presidential election.

The black folks who voted for Obama were likely the ones protesting the most.

Also, if he spreads it amongst his kind, he still keeps the virus going which at this point he may feel is in his interest.

From the CDC:

The incubation period for COVID-19 is thought to extend to 14 days, with a median time of 4-5 days from exposure to symptoms onset. One study reported that 97.5% of persons with COVID-19 who develop symptoms will do so within 11.5 days of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

However, the protests were outside, lots of participants were wearing masks, and so the infection risk isn't all that great. Not like going to church and singing in the choir.

The protestors are all great people and had a great cause but they risked COVID spread. One cant have one's cake and eat it too.

They risked the spread and may have to face the consequences...That's life.

And now the deniers will use that to further their stupid ideas about the 1st amendment and this thing can be a huge s___ sandwich.

The best thing we can hope for is that the majority of them were wearing masks so hopefully that might have helped tremendously.

Trump needs something to shake up the dynamic. It is not impossible coronavirus eventually breaks in his favor. That seems inconceivable now but it is amazing how incumbents can benefit from one variable after another. If Republicans had held the White House for multiple terms then Trump would really be in jeopardy. But defending only one GOP term he still holds immense benefit of a doubt. As I've mentioned countless times, only Jimmy Carter has lost in this scenario in more than a century...incumbent whose party has held the White House only one term.

The deaths from coronavirus will break rather evenly among the two parties. That's the way these things shake out when the numbers are so high. It is similar to the nonsense that Democrats would gain millions of votes from restored voting rights to felons in Florida.
