ignore the pandemic and "open up the economy" like Mr. Trump told us. He said it would be fine because the virus was just a "Democrat hoax".
So, all this nonsense about "record high" numbers of new cases in the "open" states must be fake news, right? It's all just a deep state/Democrat/Soros/Antifa hoax, don't you think?
And, I'll bet grandma isn't really dead-------is she?

(9,442 posts)I'm sure we will see a higher spike due to the protests but these numbers have nothing to do with them. I was so encouraged to see so many of the protesters wearing masks.
We're still waiting for Gov Ducey to have a press conference about these current, pre-protest spikes. He's such a gutless wonder. The press always calls him out on his bs.

(9,442 posts)Reopening way too soon which sent the message that the danger was over...no need for social distancing or masks anymore. People believe what they want to believe. They gravitate towards what supports their mindset.

(9,998 posts)I've been saying this all along. We're months away from a "2nd Wave."
We never fully contained the 1st Wave. The surge we are likely to experience in the next several weeks, is still part of that wave.

(29,699 posts)from April to May and doubled from May to June in 23 days. We racking up 300 to 400 cases a day. I won't be out again for another month when we run out of food, etc and need to make another foray into virus city.

(9,952 posts)Where the stores are still disinfecting and being responsible. I am not in the public long and do the whole routine of washing hands ect... when I come home. And I am not going back to work yet. I am feeling pretty low risk in getting it. I have been having to go to dentist dealing with issues and this being the fourth visit I asked if they were still on top of things like they were at the start of reopening. I pay attention.
I know this about Arknsas and Georgia was not even close to reopening. Others of course. Mostly red states.

Hogan has opened up slowly however and was not as stupid as other republicans.
I do not trust any republicans judgement on anything anymore. Well I was wary in general of them, after watching how they behave in a crisis, I have lost any tolerance I had however minimal in them.

(3,404 posts)there IS NO GETTING OVER IT!
Social distancing, hygiene, and masks are only flattening the curve. The same number of people will likely contract this virus eventually...Over months instead of weeks.
FLATTENING THE CURVE ONLY INCREASES THE CHANCE THAT A VENTILATOR IS AVAILABLE WHEN YOU DO EVENTUALLY GET IT!
Masks, hygiene, and distancing can protect individuals for a while, but nothing short of a vaccine or therapy will make a safe return to 2019 possible.
