When we speak of the proper role of the media, remember that the media created Trump.

Rather the myth of Trump being a successful businessman who would bring that business genius to the Oval Office.

Yes, many GOP voters are racists, but not all. (Please, it cannot be all of them!!) For some, their only exposure to Trump prior to 2012 was watching him perform on reality television. And these viewers only saw the finished product. They did not see how the producers had to selectively edit the shows to make Trump sound coherent, and competent.

For the US corporate media, that 90% that is owned by 6 large corporations, news is treated no differently than entertainment. It is merely an advertising platform that enables the corporate media to be very profitable.

So the fact that Trump is, and was, an idiot, the fact that Trump is nearly incoherent in his only language, the fact that Trump demonstrates daily that he knows nothing about nearly every subject, was seen as a minor obstacle that a smart editor could coverup.

To counter that media bias for appearance, we must create our own platforms, often using online media, to counter the tendency of the US corporate media to barely touch the surface of things.

And from now until November, we must all do what we can to generate enthusiasm among voters so that the blue tsunami makes the 2018 wave look like a ripple.
