Change KKK status into Terrorist Organization

https://www.change.org/p/department-of-counterterrorism-change-kkk-status-into-terrorist-organization

Ever since the inception of the Ku Klux Klan in December 24,1865 they have terrorized American citizens for the color of their skin and opposing views. This group has a long history of murder & intimidation of people based on color and religion. The KKK has lynched 3446 blacks and 1297 whites based of the research of The Tuskeegee Institute. The KKK has raped,murdered people for registering to vote, and destroyed towns built by African Americans. Clear documented evidence is available through picture and video of their murderous acts. Black Americans have suffered the most under this terror group. Terrorism is the use of violence and intimidation in pursuit of political aims. We ask if ISIS or ISIL is labeled a terrorist group for their acts, then surely the KKK fit the clear description of a terrorist.

KKK does not care to publicize their actions and the police aren't interested in investigating it.
KKK members are in many forms of the government
KKK could be considered the best example of a modern terrorist group that was even allowed, by the government, to function and even do marches in the capital of the country

There's a damn good reason we've never formally designated a US-based organization a terrorist organization, and it needs to stay that way.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. I stand with the ACLU.

when it isn't even an organization or have any members.

Brown Americans don't have the luxury of ACLU protecting us they way they protect the whites from domestic terror labels. We are still considered foreigners in our own country despite being born and raised here. And this has blocked me from my career choices and I always get selected for secondary security screening at airports despite having global entry and TSA pre-check. It's a clear brown and white issue.

So I stand against the ACLU on this one.

why would you not designate it a terrorist organization? Or did Trump not already do it with Antifa? (And yes, I know it's not really an organization in the formal sense. I'm guessing that's not going to stop Trump from finding some.)

It's him spouting shit again for his base.

If it had any legal standing, it would already be challenged in the courts by now.

and no matter how many Americans they murder, torture, and intimidate for their political aims, this country is reluctant to call it domestic terrorism. The ACLU supports them.

No matter how many DUers deny it, domestic terrorism is in the US Code

18 U.S. Code § 2331.Definitions
(5)the term “domestic terrorism” means activities that—

(A)involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State;
(B)appear to be intended—
(i)to intimidate or coerce a civilian population;
(ii)to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or
(iii)to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and

(C)occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States;

Law Enforcement has long gone after gangs, mobsters, drug dealers, etc. who are often smaller groups connected with each other through various means.
