Tucker Carlson is losing more advertisers in the wake of the Fox News hosts controversial comments about the Black Lives Matter movement.
Walt Disney Co., Papa Johns International Inc. and T-Mobile US Inc. said this week they would no longer advertise on his show after he sparked an uproar in addressing the global protests over police brutality and racial inequality.
This may be a lot of things, this moment we are living through, he said Monday on his Fox News show, Tucker Carlson Tonight. But it is definitely not about black lives and remember that when they come for you, and at this rate, they will.
Carlsons show has seen several waves of advertiser boycotts in recent years over his commentary. In December 2018, PepsiCo Inc.s SodaStream, TD Ameritrade Holding Corp. and others pulled their ads from Carlsons show after he said immigrants make the U.S. poorer and dirtier and more divided.

Not an approval of MyPillow management, just the product.

(4,242 posts)A recent review from MatressClarity (a site I use to check out QVC claims): "MyPillow does have a good amount of hype but for us, the MyPillow Premium fell flat, literally, during the review. The chunks of foam were compressed by the head overnight and after only a few nights of sleep, it became too flat to be comfortable while back sleeping".

(8,964 posts)To include Limbaugh, Hannity et al. There have been instances where sponsors have left en masse. However, certain if not most advertisers eventually come back, and no doubt new ones will come on board. It's up to consumers to keep tabs on who keeps them afloat, and act accordingly by taking their purchasing power elsewhere. Occasionally I'll tune in to their shows as long as I can stomach it, just to see who pays their salaries.

(64,995 posts)They'll see very little negative financial impact. Whatever they see will be offset by the reduced expenditures.
Their marketing folks will review other opportunities and put the money there.
This gesture is a good symbolic move & may end up making them moré money in the future.
I don't think there will be a sound business reason to go back.
Good will has inherent business value to a consumer product company. (Well, maybe not pharma or big oil)

(12,154 posts)Media Matters has compiled a list of Tucker Carlson's leading advertisers (a fast-shrinking list!):

The only one I patronize is Office Depot (and have for pretty much their entire existence). I've contacted them to let them know they can kiss my business goodbye until they quit advertising on this scumbag's show (I phrased it a little more delicately than that, of course).
