COVID Is So Bad in Arizona They're Running Out of Beds

“We’re at capacity.”

That’s how a nurse in Arizona who treats COVID-19 patients summed up the situation at her state’s facilities on Wednesday, describing 12-hour shifts treating more and more severely ill patients, many of whom have died.

“It’s exhausting and emotionally draining, and you feel helpless and just very sad for people,” the nurse, who requested anonymity for fear of professional retaliation, told The Daily Beast.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Arizona had at least 28,296 confirmed coronavirus cases and 1,706 deaths, according to the Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center, which also showed a concerning upward trend. The state had 1,553 new cases on June 5, its highest daily peak for new cases since the pandemic began. According to a comparison of all 50 states, the Johns Hopkins data showed that Arizona had among the biggest upward case trends of any state in the U.S.

NE Indiana, do not wear masks and the number of people not just here, but on the 'net, who are swearing that we should have been more like Sweden scares the bejeezus out of me.

He's a brain dead ideologue.
Facts, data, evidence...mean nothing if it doesn't match his preconceived, two dimensional vision.
I'm starting to think the financial industry needs to do more psychological screening before management jobs can be assigned.
This guy is a shallow thinker & he's malignant.

They think since Douch bag lifted the quarantine, everything is hunky dory, and it won't matter how bad it gets, I doubt he will reinstate the stay at home orders. Trump set foot in the state, and the next day Douch bag lifted the stay at home orders.

they'll open up field hospitals in parking lots and bring in doctors and nurses from other states to work in them. Ducey has no plan for trying to reduce the spiking rates. He's all about being reactive instead of proactive. He's a horrible governor.

In a N. AZ town
In a county full of the Flu Klux Klan
In the state run my Ducey.

Seeing what my husband is having to do as an administrator is an absolute nightmare.

ICU bed usage is from all causes.

I assume the reason the hospitalizations trail off in the last few days is processing time. Same for deaths. But those don't usually lag by more than 2-3 days.

Dunno.

COVID denier lunitics. I've heard a lot from them on another forum I visit, Above Top Secret.

They deny common sense and easily done protective measures against COVID and are influenced by Trump delusional thinking.
