Donald Trump called Elizabeth Warren "Pocahontas" when condemning her involvement in attempting to pass an amendment to rename the military bases originally named after Confederate generals.
The nickname he often uses for the Massachusetts senator has been called a divisive slur among critics. Mr Trump's choice of wording comes as a larger conversation has grown across the country about systematic racism and racist rhetoric.

(12,712 posts)All of this from Trump suggests he is using Hitler-style tactics.
How? Notice a continual barrage of cultural noise that whips the public into a froth and breaks things down. There is more to this than meets the eye. It is, to me, a gradual method with intent.
He is churning up political whirlwinds, so the content cause the process to be overlooked. You could call it intentional, collective crazy making. Part of it is that people call it crazy, stupid, etc., which belies the point that he is churning the body politic with a purpose. Look at the results and how often he does this.
I think he is not as good at it as he thinks he is, though. He is getting repetitious to the point that some people are catching onto it more now. Yet, that's not what matters most. The damage is being done and it is wilful and malicious, practiced and continual. Watch his actions and statements with that in mind and it should be clear.
The Big lie:
Usage in Hitler's psychological profile
The phrase was also used in a report prepared during the war by the United States Office of Strategic Services in describing Hitler's psychological profile:[6]
His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.[7]
The above quote appears in the report, A Psychological Analysis of Adolph Hitler: His Life and Legend, by Walter C. Langer,[7][8] which is available from the US National Archives. [9] A somewhat similar quote appears in Analysis of the Personality of Adolph Hitler: With Predictions of His Future Behaviour and Suggestions for Dealing with Him Now and After Germany's Surrender, by Henry A. Murray, October 1943[10]:
Never to admit a fault or wrong; never to accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time; blame that enemy for everything that goes wrong; take advantage of every opportunity to raise a political whirlwind.

Pocahontas is a compliment.
Elizabeth needs to talk with tribal leaders and then thank Trump for the compliment.
I don't even understand why Trump thinks it is an insult.
I have been to the church where she is buried. Some of my ancestors are from the area.
