Amy Acton, Ohio's embattled health director, resigns amid COVID-19 crisis

https://abcnews.go.com/amp/US/amy-acton-ohios-embattled-health-director-resigns-amid/story?id=71202353

Acton was appointed health director in February 2019. She rose to prominence during the pandemic, often addressing the public during DeWine's briefings. She drew praise for her calm demeanor and the administration's swift, aggressive response to the coronavirus. But she was also the target of criticism as the state's lockdown stretched on.

Protesters demonstrated in front of her home on several occasions in May, and Republican lawmakers have been working on legislation to limit the health director's authority. In ruling that the state's order closing gyms during the pandemic violated the Ohio Constitution, an Ohio judge wrote that Acton acted in an "impermissibly arbitrary, unreasonable, and oppressive manner."

Lance Himes, the Ohio Department of Health's general counsel, will become interim director, DeWine said.

Harassed the woman at her house, for basically being the top ADVISOR!

Why wasn't he putting a security task force together to protect her and find/prosecute the perps?

“To bother the family of Dr. Acton, I don’t think that’s fair game,” he said. “I don’t think it’s right. I don’t think it’s necessary to get your point across.”
DeWine also questioned why the demonstrators exercising their First Amendment rights would decide to target reporters exercising theirs. The reporters and photographers were “doing nothing more than following that First Amendment, informing the public — and just remember, they’re informing the public about what you think.”
“But if you treat them with disrespect, to not observe social distancing with them, to be just obnoxious, I just find that very, very sad,” the governor said. “So come after me. I’m fair game. They’re not.”

knuckle-dragging Ohioans harassing her family outside her home so that they can, in part, go to their fucking gymS.
