Today, they have been ordered to stand on the parade grounds of West Point and listen to a graduation speech from the president.
That oath they took is to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
We already know that Trump's speech will be mostly about his own "greatness" and, based on every speech that Trump has ever made, he will make statements in which he spits on the Constitution.
The cadets are being forced to listen to whatever shit he spews. But they have no duty to applaud. Hopefully, when the orange creature throws his "applause lines" and when he's finished, every one of those cadets will stand there in total silence. No applause. None. They cannot be ordered to applaud.
We may see a moment of greatness today. And it may be the moment of Donald Trump's ultimate demise.
We'll see.

(853 posts)hurt their career. Slow promotions as long as IQ45 is CinC, or their commanders are/were trumpsters. As an officer, you never show displeasure in a superior in public, especially in a military setting. Don't wish these things on the cadets. The command officers knowing, but not saying, the IQ45 is not worthy of presenting the address, are keeping watch for any type of protest against the CinC.

(21,555 posts)this is the speech where all those poor grads had to be quarantined for two weeks just so shit-face could come and give this speech to pander to his base about how much he loves the military, right?
betting there is a LOT of rage towards him in that crowd.
