North Carolina is experiencing its first wave, or peak, of coronavirus cases, as the percentage of positive cases continue to rise, the states top health official said Friday.
The states positive coronavirus test rate remains among the highest in the country and has continued to rise, said Dr. Mandy Cohen, secretary of the N.C. Department Health and Human Services.
Testing has reached record levels statewide, Cohen added, so more positive cases would be expected. But she said thats not the only reason for the spike. The disease is growing through communal spread, she said.

(3,334 posts)is reopening his gym this month. We will go there and check it out. How he will handle the pandemic will determine if we will train now or wait. One problem we will have is amateur boxing rules for senior citizens is you can only box people that are not more than 10 years younger or older than you. My husband is 77 and I am 71 so we may be able to only box each other if boxing someone of the opposite sex is allowed.
