Evidence of additional COVID waves - for awhile, weekend numbers were down

for confirmed cases.

Here it is, Saturday, and there are more than 25K new confirmed cases. Yes, deaths are down, but that is a weekend thing too....and with all of the reopenings and easings, I actually think much of our country has lost its minds.

We are noticing it to some degree here in western NC, where there was good discipline for the most part - but, alas, many people are just thinking someone clicked their fingers and it is all gone.

I guess we've become a species that can't walk and chew gum at the same time - there can only be one news story in our brains - when another comes in, the other vanishes.

Poor us. Sad us. pathetic us......

Between the climate, how we treat each other, our inability to do the right thing - we are going to get exactly what we deserve.

1. The only numbers that I trust are actual hospitalizations and actual deaths.

I don’t believe the tests are reliable as I personally know somebody with Covid who was in the hospital for Covid but got negative results twice--only to test positive after being put on the vent.

4. Weekend reporting has recently been off

for the last month. Monday and Tuesdays are "catch up" days with the reporting, but I'm sure they're off especially in the states that opened up early. And I'm sure those states are cooking the books.

Here is WA, per capita numbers in eastern WA are greater than the Seattle metro area.

Numbers have not gone down enough to think otherwise.

So, on the up side, numbers will continue to grow and grow and grow until we reach herd immunity, right?

Oh, it's not that easy? Never mind.
