Tomorrow we observe the 74th tragic anniversary of the consequence of Fred tRump's failure to let the fruit of his passion run down his leg--yes, it's Shitgibbon's birthday--the day many progressives will awaken and flood the Cockwomble's Twitter feed, not with birthday praises, but with pictures and videos our our MOST favorite President, Barack H. Obama!
Please, if you have a Twitter account, send AnusMouth a birthday "greeting" featuring the former TRUE President! Bonus points for sending him the video of Obama's 2011 message at the WHCA banquet, roasting said Cockwomble and bringing to light what a pathetic dolt he truly is. Light him up, folks!

(9,110 posts)Seeing Obama inaugurated in 2012 proving he won twice. Four times if you count electoral college and popular vote.
I'm opting for a "Hi! How are you doing?" Or a "fare thee well", and showing how he doesnt wear huge suits to disguise an obese body.
What about Obama and Biden?

That always makes me feel better.
And no, donald, you will NEVER erase President Barack Obama's legacy, no matter what you try to do or how many of his initiatives you try to undo or overturn or throw out. You will only burnish his legacy. Your greatest misfortune was to be the guy who had to follow Obama, and be dwarfed by the comparison. You are and will always be a small pimple. He is and will always be Olympus Mons.

(81,211 posts)Okay - quick: Name the act that followed the Beatles on "The Ed Sullivan Show".
I can't, either.
There were news stories about how the water pressure - NATIONWIDE - dropped in the minutes immediately after the Beatles appeared on "The Ed Sullivan Show." Why? Cuz everybody waited to go to the bathroom til AFTER the Beatles were on. This was documented somewhere, and I remember reading it. VERY unfortunate for that poor next act that had to follow the Beatles! My dad even commented on it, what a lousy break that was for that act. I felt bad for them. If they were thinking, they woulda cut to commercial instead, and held the next act til after the commercials. But then again, probably after everybody went off to the bathroom, they all headed to the kitchen to get either a snack or something else to drink!
That said, unfortunately donald will live in infamy - like FDR said the December 7th Pearl Harbor attack would do. There will be books galore written about him, working with him, what was wrong with him, why he lied/lies all the time, who was dumb/unsuspecting/naive/masochistic enough to work in his White House, how he got to the White House (Cheating Inc. - or maybe, since the Russians played a key role, it should be Cheatingski Inc. OR - give him a "-gate"! He tried to plant the "Obamagate" seed for about 36 hours and that drew WAY too much heat so you'll notice he doesn't hammer away at that one anymore. Cheatgate? trump gate? I kinda like Donaldgate but it's because the three-syllables feel kinda fun rolling off the tongue. There's also TrumpRussiagate - which gets both ideas in. But I know there are other clever thinkers out there who can develop the idea even more shrewdly.
But, unfortunately, we are stuck with donald until the Grim Reaper comes to drag him off center stage. He's too memorable a character to fade away, much as we hope he will. Even in death, he will be the subject of much spilled ink as people with advanced degrees and many stripes on sleeves and medals on chests and testimonials hanging on walls weigh in with multiple kinds of attempts to figure him out, and examine what he did to this country and, as a result, to the rest of the world. He's carved himself a nitch (niche?), alright. Put his handprint in the cement of the proverbial sidewalk of history. We'll never be completely rid of him. I hope the majority of us learns from the era of donald. His story might come to be known as "The King of the Cautionary Tales."
It WILL be to the good if lessons are learned - as long as they're lessons in what NOT to do and/or be, and/or repeat. But then again, I'm sure there were loads of people who thought we couldn't possibly have a worse world leader than ol' Adolf...

(81,211 posts)how they must not be touched, much less removed, my husband reminded me that the German people drove the effort to get rid of statues commemorating the Hitler era. They're the force that did that. Because after World War II shook awake those who'd pretty much dozed through it, THEY did that. Maybe not every single one of them, but enough of a majority that there was little to stand in their way. THEY seized the time, the day, and the moment, as many of us are hearing similar urgings now. That the time is NOW. It's all about TIMING. It's about seizing the opportunity - because these things don't come along every day and the public is WAY with us on this.
THEY did that after the Hitler nightmare was over. Nobody held a gun to their heads and nobody seemed interested in blocking it or objecting to it or dictating it away or trying to make it illegal. And no tear gas or flash bombs or rubber bullets were involved.
