his walk down the ramp.
I am the same age, and take my time walking down ramps, wet or not. I do lose my my balance and fall every so often, and it is not always fun.
I did notice his little victory dance at the end, and have no idea what that was about.

(115,683 posts)he's being made fun of because of his repeated insistence that he is in perfect health and that he's 6'3" and 244 lbs., when it's obvious that he's much shorter and fatter than that and there's something so wrong with him that he needs two hands to drink from a glass of water, complete a sentence or walk down a ramp.

(43,049 posts)He's a 73 year old fat slob-- we all know that. He knows it, too, and the victory dance at the end was to show off that he could make it down the scary ramp.
Sometimes it just seems that more attention is on fairly normal aging processes than his denial of them.
Actually, the whole performance made me think of him walking a plank...

(63,221 posts)Exactly! He is famous for being able to dish it out and not being able to take it when it comes back to him. He is the king of projection. If he doesn't want to be mocked, then maybe he should just shut his fat anal pore.

(47,419 posts)at times. Being close in age to Trump, I could actually appreciate the difficulty going down a ramp and maintaining one's balance. It is something I wouldn't have understood when I was younger. That said, I have no problem with making fun of him for making lame excuses about why he was so cautious and awkward going down the ramp.
We are understandably quick to mock Trump, because he mocks others often and cruelly, but when we make fun of him for something that could be typical for a person his age, we are condoning mockery of the elderly. That would include many of our own government representatives and leaders.

(268,967 posts)Clearly none of us over a certain age can do what we did at 50 or 60. He earned every bit of ridicule he's now receiving.

(102,236 posts)the so-called "Leader of the Free World." Aging and infirmity is not the issue here. Something is seriously wrong with him (far more than his shoe-lifts and obesity). His cognitive decline is both obvious to anyone with medical background (and increasingly to the American public) and significant. His balance issues very likely reflect THAT, rather than simple functional aging.

(92,187 posts)draconian things he has done to our country, along with insuring we get people registered to vote and pushing them to vote early when it s available, and by mail if possible
The election is a little over five months away, and how he walks down a ramp is not what will win or lose the election

Its not just for shits and giggles.
He is a job applicant and we are tasked with evaluating whether or not the people applying for the job can do the job.
It is a difficult and taxing position that requires someone with a sharp mind and good health and stamina to do it.
He is literally not fit for the job.

(32,080 posts)Some people are "ragging" on it, or more aptly, mocking him over it. But, most are just pointing out that the man obviously is not right, and are speculating as to the cause of his obvious physical and mental deterioration.

Especially going down.
Not all stairs have rails on both sides, but it's always wise to use at least one.

(8,445 posts)He clearly only "ran" down those last TWO feet.....not 10. His lying is just comical sometimes.
I also think it's comical that he felt he had to defend the way he traversed down the ramp. He draws attention to little things that don't matter because his ego is so fragile.
He never learned that adage, "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones."
And yes, falling is never fun. If OrangeAss fell, I wouldn't laugh about it. I despise him too, but I can't wish physical pain or injury on others. It's just how I am. And also, there's that karma thing.....

The day that trump accepts his age, his infirmity and his mortality will be the day that I don't criticize his physical imperfections.

(1,214 posts)I was deeply offended by his mocking of the disabled reporter. Deeply. Even if there had been a chance Id support Trump (there wasnt), hed have lost me right there. It was callous, cruel, and completely unnecessary. It took me instantly back to high school and being bullied because I sometimes misjudge distances, with embarrassing results such as falling or bumping into things. Trumps just a high school bully. And a liar.
Normally Id agree that his ability to walk is not by itself a serious political issue. But he denies any health problems himself, while making any perceived health issue in his opponents a federal court case. Theres no way hes a person in good health! Add this to his mocking of others with physical problems, and he deserves the ridicule.

(50,269 posts)go to a microphone or start twittering about what a tough person I am, blah, blah, blah. Trump has said something about being afraid of going down stairs and I honestly wish he had slipped on that ramp and slid on his fat can to the bottom and landed with a splat in the grass. I think the way he was drinking water was more concerning. I wonder if they're hiding Parkinson's or something.

(8,380 posts)I am always cautious walking down a ramp or stairs, and I always have a third point of contact (handrail). In Italy, I was appalled at the lack of handrails ("What about the ADA?" I thought, and then I realized, "Oh, AMERICANS with Disabilities Act!"
But I readily admit that at 62, I fall harder with less balance than I used to have, and I'm training myself for 72, 82, and my dad's age, 92, to be careful. I do not make excuses for it, and if I were Trump, I'd say, "Hey, not bad for a 74-year-old guy!" with self-deprecating humor. That's the difference - Trump would never, COULD never, do that. His back is up and he can't take any criticism or admit to a single failure or weakness.

(14,531 posts)I'm just surprised the bloviator in chief let go of the dais long enough to get down the ramp.

(2,769 posts)I'm no spring chicken, and in my experience people his age do NOT walk that hesitantly unless they have fallen previously ---- and so, they are much more cautious in potential 'might fall' situations.
Also, he thinks of himself as youthful, handsome, healthy, brilliant and strong. Got news for you Trumpy, you ain't.

(42,282 posts)It's easy to get under his skin and this really, really has. Anything that gives him indigestion has my blessing.
I'm younger by a decade but took a fall last year that left me on crutches for 6 weeks. I believe he's had a fall or two, as well, to step that gingerly on the ramp--more evidence we're being lied to about his health.
