I despise Trump as much as anyone here, but I am a little insulted by the ragging on...

his walk down the ramp.

I am the same age, and take my time walking down ramps, wet or not. I do lose my my balance and fall every so often, and it is not always fun.

I did notice his little victory dance at the end, and have no idea what that was about.

he's being made fun of because of his repeated insistence that he is in perfect health and that he's 6'3" and 244 lbs., when it's obvious that he's much shorter and fatter than that and there's something so wrong with him that he needs two hands to drink from a glass of water, complete a sentence or walk down a ramp.

He's a 73 year old fat slob-- we all know that. He knows it, too, and the victory dance at the end was to show off that he could make it down the scary ramp.

Sometimes it just seems that more attention is on fairly normal aging processes than his denial of them.

Actually, the whole performance made me think of him walking a plank...

at times. Being close in age to Trump, I could actually appreciate the difficulty going down a ramp and maintaining one's balance. It is something I wouldn't have understood when I was younger. That said, I have no problem with making fun of him for making lame excuses about why he was so cautious and awkward going down the ramp.

We are understandably quick to mock Trump, because he mocks others often and cruelly, but when we make fun of him for something that could be typical for a person his age, we are condoning mockery of the elderly. That would include many of our own government representatives and leaders.

the so-called "Leader of the Free World." Aging and infirmity is not the issue here. Something is seriously wrong with him (far more than his shoe-lifts and obesity). His cognitive decline is both obvious to anyone with medical background (and increasingly to the American public) and significant. His balance issues very likely reflect THAT, rather than simple functional aging.

He clearly only "ran" down those last TWO feet.....not 10. His lying is just comical sometimes.

I also think it's comical that he felt he had to defend the way he traversed down the ramp. He draws attention to little things that don't matter because his ego is so fragile.

He never learned that adage, "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones."

And yes, falling is never fun. If OrangeAss fell, I wouldn't laugh about it. I despise him too, but I can't wish physical pain or injury on others. It's just how I am. And also, there's that karma thing.....

I was deeply offended by his mocking of the disabled reporter. Deeply. Even if there had been a chance I’d support Trump (there wasn’t), he’d have lost me right there. It was callous, cruel, and completely unnecessary. It took me instantly back to high school and being bullied because I sometimes misjudge distances, with embarrassing results such as falling or bumping into things. Trump’s just a high school bully. And a liar.

Normally I’d agree that his ability to walk is not by itself a serious political issue. But he denies any health problems himself, while making any perceived health issue in his opponents a federal court case. There’s no way he’s a person in good health! Add this to his mocking of others with physical problems, and he deserves the ridicule.

I am always cautious walking down a ramp or stairs, and I always have a third point of contact (handrail). In Italy, I was appalled at the lack of handrails ("What about the ADA?" I thought, and then I realized, "Oh, AMERICANS with Disabilities Act!&quot

But I readily admit that at 62, I fall harder with less balance than I used to have, and I'm training myself for 72, 82, and my dad's age, 92, to be careful. I do not make excuses for it, and if I were Trump, I'd say, "Hey, not bad for a 74-year-old guy!" with self-deprecating humor. That's the difference - Trump would never, COULD never, do that. His back is up and he can't take any criticism or admit to a single failure or weakness.
