"Scared white suburbanites" are scared of blacks because they're bigots

Last edited Sun Jun 14, 2020, 09:58 AM - Edit history (2)

These are the people who "don't have a racist bone in my body," but accost their black suburbanite neighbors (when they have any) demanding they prove their right to be there and who always side with the police when they murder another innocent black man because "we don't know the whole story." They're going to vote for Trump whether or not a black person sets a Wendy's on fire. And if not a single black person ever sets a foot out of line ever again, Trump will STILL find a way to keep them scared of us.

But frankly, I'm sick and tired of white people tsk tsking at black people warning us that if we don't toe the line or if every single one of us doesn't protest in a manner they approve of, it will be OUR fault that he gets re-elected.

Sorry, but that's crap. Rather than distracting attention from the very real horrors of brothers and sisters being murdered that hundreds of thousands of us are trying to stop in a peaceful manner to obsess over the tiny handful of people who are destroying property - as if the latter is equivalent to and even worse than the former - and warning that we're going to make some white people vote for Trump, I wish our white allies would expend some energy on getting other white people to stop voting for Trump.

Trust me, very few white people are going to vote for Trump because a black person burned down a Wendy's. And if you think you know anyone who thinks that way, why don't YOU go talk them out of it?

If more white people had spent less time explaining away the racism and oppression we have been trying to fight and more time talking to their friends and families and not sitting back telling black folk how are not doing civil rights right because we keep making white people uncomfortable, we might not be in this situation now.
