https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007MQ4JLG/ref=dp_cerb_It says in this ad that the wires extend 15 feet. I think that once a taser gun has been fired, it needs a new cartridge.
Or must physically touch a body. If so, the taser Brooks ran with was completely harmless and the cops would
know that.
I may have my info wrong. Any taser experts here?

(2,654 posts)If I were the pursuing police officer in this case, I would not want to be tased by the fleeing Rayshard Brooks who had just put up a strenuous fight and who seemed to turn towards the officer and point the taser. Perhaps, in that split second, the officer feared that Rayshard was about to initiate another round of combat. I regret that the officer fired his weapon and that Rayshard died. However, I think that the officer's firing of his weapon was a judgment call that is not totally indefensible.
Of course, there are so many factors involved. Rayshawn Brooks may have understandably panicked over being told he was going to be handcuffed, and, in an intoxicate state, decided to fight the police officers. It is a very sad tragedy for which the assessment of blame may go on for some time.

Rayshard Brooks did not deserve to die for his choices, but his choices were not good ones.
