whoever said "yeah, that's good, we'll run it" is either stupid or wanted to stoke tensions.

in east Texas are similar. Tennessee legislators just voted to keep the founder of the KKK on display in the capitol building.

I’ll just never get used to the stoking of hatred. And they’re quite proud of their racism. The current administration is making them feel good and right in their hatred of people that don’t look like themselves.

I hope these many nightmares are over soon.

the "owner/father" of the family-run paper "OK'ed" that to be run in the paper, much to the dismay of the daughter/person in charge. It's my understanding that the father (a "senior citizen&quot has agreed to step down from the paper.

When I looked up the story and saw how over the top the cartoon was unabashedly pulling on the most basic racist stereotypes I felt compelled to share.

It's sideways in the lower right corner.

He replied to a question about it in a news article.I

The cartoonist Tom Stiglich sent the following statement to 5 On Your Side's Sara Machi:

"Thanks for writing and for giving me the opportunity to respond. First and foremost, may George Floyd rest in peace. he did not deserve to die like that. I do not condone racism or police brutality of any kind. It's such a hostile environment we're living in right now, one that needs more law and order, not less. The rioting and looting was extremely disheartening. That cartoon was based solely on violent crime numbers here in the US. To ignore that would be doing a disservice to the reader.Best wishes, Tom"

"Based solely on violent crime numbers here in the US"... Pigpoop! Those are racist assumptions!

A quick search finds this on the FBI site...
White = 5,626,140
African American = 2,221,697

Here's info from OJDDP .gov site from 2018: (All ages)
White = 7,115,940
Black = 2,826,460

That sure looks like WHITES commit MORE violent crimes than BLACKS do.

Actually, he's not. I just looked up some of his other cartoons; he appears to be somewhere to the right of Darth Vader.
